Description
Have you ever felt called to leave your comfort to give time and energy elsewhere, in another country?
While I was just finishing my engineering studies, I had this feeling and I followed it immediately. It was a call deep inside myself. I knew already the Chemin Neuf Community (CCN), a religious community gathering Christians from all over the world. They have a mission called JET (Jeunes à l'étranger) that gives the opportunity to young people to go in many foreign countries to do humanitarian missions.
I was ready to go in a country far from everything I know for one year. And, since January 2016, I am in Manila, in Philippines. After a few months of formation in France, I landed in the San Lorenzo dormitory, a place held by the CCN. I live there with members of the community and another volunteer. The dormitory can welcome 250 students who usually come to prepare the board exams
My missions
I spend half of my time helping in the maintenance of the dormitory (example: installing air condition, painting, fixing lights) and there is much to do.
Then, I spend the other half of my time with Tulay ng Kabataan foundation (TNK). This foundation helps the children living in the street escaping poverty. The children are gathered and have the opportunity to get a new home where they can start a new life, go to school again and be loved life in a real family. TNK foundation also supports the families living in the slums and the dumps of Manila.
I have many activities with TNK foundation:
- Monday, I provide homework support for the children of one of the houses.
- Wednesday, I help another volunteer to do the feeding for the houses, including buying and delivering the food.
- Friday, I prepare the prayer (adoration) that occurs in the evening with the children. I also help another volunteer to run a choir.
- Saturday, I join the group going to Manila's dumps to meet the children living there. We usually do prayers or games together. In the afternoon, I watch the children of the foundation while they play basketball.
We share so much!
This is the first time the CCN and TNK foundation have a partnership for a humanitarian mission. In a way, I support the CCN's team working in San Lorenzo dormitory and I support TNK's volunteers in their various missions.
As explained in the presentation movie, I receive a lot during my missions. Despite what endured the children while they were living in the street (violence, abuses, drugs, prostitution), they are joyful and always full of energy.
The children and I share a lot. We share time, smiles, jokes, meals, games. Their joy and their tenderness are real and free. Thanks to them, I have learnt to give myself freely every day. Meanwhile, another kind of sharing occurs in the dormitory where I live. With the members of the community and the other volunteer, we share our joys and our weaknesses. We share what we are and what we believe in.
Why not join this sharing?
I would like to extend this sharing, to communicate my adventure with as many people as possible. I am already thankful to you for reading those lines and watching that short movie. But now, why not join the adventure even deeper? Why not sponsor my mission? Sponsoring my missions means supporting a young man engaging himself at the dawn of his working life. You also support a whole mission that sends volunteers all over the world.

Describe your project goal
Thanks to my first sponsors I obtained before I started my missions, I have already obtained 1120$. Consequently, the budget remaining is about 2800$. That's the minimum budget I would like to obtain thanks to this crowdfunding. The collected money will go to the Chemin Neuf Community in the Philippines. It will help the mission for volunteer (JET) to develop itself in Philippines by repaying the money the CCN lent me.
